  1. +1. Don't introduce her to SWGoH. My daughter gives me a hard time playing that. Thanks Maggie!
  2. SC team for the win. Welcome old hat!
  3. I also know nothing about R specifically, but usually a good place to start learning a new language for me is PluralSight. It's not free, but it's not expensive either. I'd suggest you take a look into the beginner's course there: https://app.pluralsight.com/library/courses/r-programming-fundamentals/table-of-contents Specially on the part about data structures. But first, let me ask you something: You don't code now or you never coded before in your life ? What background do you have in programming ?
  4. +1. Beautiful machine!
  5. *Bows in respect.*
  6. Still waiting for pics. Or didn't happen.
  7. ^^
  8. Done. All tabs completed.
  9. 1 more conquest (I did the avarice with your tips on the bounties); Level 3 gems to 55 (they're 53); Augment an armor piece with a 50+ gem. That's it. I'll try to finish these today, if my wife and kid let me.
  10. It seems that they present 1 + 2 as a single season, Called SAO 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sword_Art_Online_episodes And they call SAO 2 the gun place: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sword_Art_Online_II_episodes Particularly I liked a lot the first arc of SAO 1. The others were just ok.
  11. I've tested with the clip you sent. No DXVA (I don't know why yet, I don't use any codec pack outside MPC-HC embedded ones), CPU choked at 97%. The framerate at 60fps is considerably clear to me. Info about the media file: Complete name : C:\Temp\4k-video-samples\Sony_4K_HDR_Camp.mp4 Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : Base Media Codec ID : isom File size : 1.12 GiB Duration : 2mn 7s Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 75.8 Mbps Video ID : 1 Format : HEVC Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding Format profile : Main 10@L5.1@High Codec ID : hvc1 Codec ID/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding Duration : 2mn 7s Bit rate : 75.6 Mbps Maximum bit rate : 123 Mbps Width : 3 840 pixels Height : 2 160 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 59.940 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 10 bits Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.152 Stream size : 1.12 GiB (100%) Encoded date : UTC 2016-02-03 07:59:49 Tagged date : UTC 2016-02-03 08:01:32 Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.2020 Matrix coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant Screenshot while playing the video: I'm not sure how I'll enable DXVA to watch this, but I'll try. Maybe a change to VLC will help. EDIT: Tried with the latest version of VLC (2.2.4 Weathermax) without any good result. None of the 4k samples played. The good thing of all this is that I'm not eager to engage 4k video yet. Otherwise I'd be very worried now.
  12. ^^ Weird. Although 4k moves way more data around (4096x2160 vs. 1920x1080 ~ 4.2 times more pixels), that shouldn't be a problem, unless it's fully soft decoding instead of offloading the work to specific CPU instructions / GPU instructions. Do you have any 4k sample for me to test ? I never had curiosity to run it on my machine. Usually I use MPC-HC, and it usually offload the decoding to DXVA, which keeps the CPU on near 0%. EDIT: Nevermind, I'm downloading some samples from http://4ksamples.com, I'll test and let you know. Maybe the problem the x265 encoding doesn't have a hardware-enabled decoded yet. Let's see. EDIT2: Tried with Elysium demo. Plays at 24fps, which I consider low for a high-quality video. CPU stays at 25% in average, using MPC-HC 1.7.10 64bits. I'm trying to find a better / higher quality sample, with bigger FPS and x265 encoding.
  13. Thanks bro! It's a Sandy Bridge-E 3930K (poor man's hexacore). At the time I bought it was the best one available at the market. Still pays off some time later. 32GB was excessive, and still is a little bit. 16GB is perfectly doable, even for programming with a couple of VMs running. 16 graphs in task manager would be nicer, though. For transcoding, don't you use any cuda-enabled program ?
  14. I'm a simple man. I see hexacores + 12 threads, I upvote. By the way, my old rig is back alive. 4 and a half years old, hexacore with hyperthreading. 32GB. Live and kicking.
